Sun Dagui’s solo exhibition opens in Chinatown

The famous Chinese painter Sun Dagui held a solo exhibition on the 28th and 29th in the Friendship Hall of the Confucius Building in Chinatown. Dozens of works of different sizes attract the attention of visitors.

The exhibition is hosted by the A&C Culture Center. Many community members were invited to participate in the ribbon-cutting ceremony. In his speech, Liang Jiaming, chairman of the center, said that in order to enrich the cultural and artistic activities of the Chinese community in the United States, to promote Chinese culture and art, and to build a cultural bridge between the people of China and the United States, the A&C Culture Center has gone through nearly half a year of preparations. In particular, he invited Sun Dagui, a famous contemporary Chinese painter, to come to the United States to hold an exhibition in New York. I believe everyone will praise the master’s work.

According to reports, Sun Dagui is a national first-class fine arts master, and he is a native of Yimeng Mountain. He was born on December 23, 1943, in Mengyin County, Shandong Province. He is currently a member of Jiangsu Artists Association, a researcher of Jiangsu Federation of Literary and Art Circles Calligraphy and Painting Research Center, a member of Jiangsu Flower and Bird Painting Research Association, deputy dean of Nanjing International Plum Blossom Painting and Calligraphy Academy, professor of Shandong Institute of Science and Culture, and a national first-class artist. He once served in the army, under the tutelage of Professors Li Jianchen, Yang Jianhou, Tan Yong, and Zhang Zhengling from the Fine Arts Department of Nanjing Normal University. He expressed that he was very happy to come to New York to meet the overseas Chinese and hope that everyone likes his paintings.

Participants from the overseas Chinese community include Yu Jinshan, Mei Zhencai, Zhu Chaoran, Huang Jianzhong, Liang Jinzheng, Takwai Eng, Liang Jiongxun, Brooklyn Borough President on behalf of Winnie Greco, and State Assistant Speaker on behalf of Weber Leung.
