Xie Yaohui, a mid-level engineer, is currently enrolled in the Calligraphy Advanced Study Program at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts and the Chinese Calligraphers Association Study Program. With a profound passion for calligraphy, he has been immersed in the world of ink and brushes since childhood, under the guidance of his uncle, who is an honorary director of the Guangdong Provincial Calligraphers Association.
Xie Yaohui holds memberships in various prestigious organizations, including the Chinese Hard Pen Calligraphy Association, the Chinese Calligraphers and Painters Association, the Chinese Traditional Culture Promotion Association, the Guangdong Traditional Culture Promotion Association, and the Guangdong Couplets Association. He serves as the Deputy Secretary-General of the Calligraphy and Painting Academy of the Guangdong Couplets Association, where he also heads the Youth Committee.
Furthermore, Xie Yaohui is a member of the Yangchun City Calligraphers Association, the Guangzhou Artists Association, the Nansha District Calligraphy and Fine Arts Association, the Haizhu District Calligraphy and Painting Research Association, and the Guangdong Provincial Women and Children’s Services Center’s Senior University, where he teaches calligraphy. Additionally, he shares his knowledge as a calligraphy instructor at the Guangzhou Youth Palace.
Xie Yaohui was honored with the title of “Warm Winter Plan Charity Artist” by the 2019 China Reports Column. His works are proudly housed in collections at notable locations, including the Fayuan Temple in Beijing, the Puji Temple in Zhuhai, the New Xing Sixth Ancestral Temple in Zhaoqing, and the Donghua Zen Temple in Shaoguan. Notably, his pieces have been selected for numerous exhibitions.
In 2022, he was awarded the first prize in the adult category of the 2022 China Red Happiness Guangzhou Spring Calligraphy and Painting Competition for his calligraphy couplets. In 2023, he received a gold medal in the adult category of the 2023 China Red Happiness Guangzhou Spring Calligraphy and Painting Competition for his calligraphy couplets.
