Liang Junyao

Liang Junyao, a student at Guangya Elementary School in Liwan District, Guangzhou, is a boy who was born in January 2012. He is known for his deep love for the motherland, strong sense of collective responsibility, willingness to help others, diligence in his studies, respect for teachers and discipline, a passion for hard work, a love for science, and he has earned the “Young Pioneers Three-Star Medal,” making him an excellent Young Pioneer excelling in both character and academics. Whenever his name is mentioned at the school, people commend him with a thumbs up. Despite his outstanding academic achievements, Liang Junyao remains humble, believing that there’s always room for improvement and higher standards to strive for.

As an assistant to the teachers and a role model for his peers, Liang Junyao receives the right guidance and education both at home and at school. He is an only child, but he willingly takes on household responsibilities such as cooking, tidying up his room, and cleaning the floor to improve his skills. At school, he’s considered a responsible “young adult” and often takes the lead in maintaining cleanliness. Over the years, he has diligently served his classmates and has become a trusted assistant to the teachers.

Liang Junyao has a deep passion for calligraphy and aspires to become a prominent calligrapher. He has been practicing calligraphy since the age of five, starting with Tang Kai script and progressing to Wei Bei and running script, with a particular fondness for the style of calligrapher Ouyang Xun. He excels in both running script and regular script, with a special love for writing with a brush. After years of practice, he is capable of writing graceful and dignified characters. He has participated in multiple calligraphy competitions, winning numerous awards. Calligraphy brings him a sense of fulfillment, helping to calm his temper and providing an appreciation for aesthetics.

Furthermore, Liang Junyao is an enthusiast of Taekwondo and holds a black belt. He firmly believes in the principle of “Learn martial arts to cultivate virtue,” and through years of training, he has developed qualities of resilience, determination, and a positive outlook on life.

His outstanding achievements have been recognized through various awards, including:

  • June 2022: Bronze award in the National Youth Calligraphy Competition
  • June 2020: Second Prize in the 11th Guangzhou Standard Chinese Character Writing Competition for Primary and Middle School Students
  • December 2019: First Prize in the 11th Liwan District Standard Chinese Character Writing Competition for Primary and Middle School Students
  • December 2020: First Prize in the 12th Liwan District Standard Chinese Character Writing Competition for Primary and Middle School Students
  • First Prize in the Liwan District Primary and Middle School Teacher-Student Calligraphy and Painting Competition in 2022
  • Second Prize in the Liwan District Primary and Middle School Teacher-Student Calligraphy and Painting Competition in 2019
  • Second Prize in the 7th Guangzhou Hard-Pen Calligraphy Competition “Wisdom Cup” in December 2021
