Lao Xiaoyan (Lao Xiao) currently serves as a director at the Sun Yat-sen Institute of Calligraphy and Painting in Guangdong Province. She is a member of the Guangdong Female Artists Association, a member of the Calligraphy and Painting Academy of the Guangdong Association for Couplets, and a member of the Tianhe Art Association, Yuexiu Art Association, and Liwan Art Association in Guangzhou. She is a graduate of Jinan University in Guangzhou and the Guangzhou Calligraphy and Painting Vocational School.
At the age of twelve, her artwork titled “Fetching Water for Military Families” was published in the “Zhejiang Daily.” Her Chinese painting titled “Portrait of Liang Qichao” was collected by the Wanmu Cottage, a nationally recognized cultural heritage site, and was published in the “Unity Newspaper” on February 25, 2023.
