Lam Chi Yau (猷) is a native of Sanshui, Guangdong. He immigrated to the United States in 1990 and runs a printing business in New York. Outside of work, he likes to swim and run. He is a sincere and friendly friend. In his spare time, he spends most of his time learning calligraphy and is fond of copying the Lanting Preface of Wang Xizhi, the sage of calligraphy.
In May 2019, I joined the “Poetry, Painting and Chess Club”.
In October 2019, he cast two pieces of calligraphy to participate in the 2nd Yan Jinneng Oil Painting and Calligraphy Invitation Exhibition.
In November 2019, we produced a huge 4′ X 8′ digital print of Lanting Preface as the stage theme background for the 26th Poetry, Painting, and Chess Club Elegant Gala.
In the summer of 2020, Mr. Mei Zhencai edited the “Collection of Poems and Calligraphy of the Lanting Preface”. Appointed as a proofreader and participated in the printing and publishing work.
In September 2021, Mr. Mei participated in the “National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival” calligraphy and painting exhibition held by the Chinese American Society of Calligraphy and Painting and won an award of excellence.
Oct. 2021 Collaborated with Wang Xinren to copy a large scale of Lanting Preface as the theme of the 4th New York Lanting Art Exhibition.
In November 2021, invited by St. John’s University, he gave a lecture on Chinese calligraphy with 27 college students and two university professors, interacting, copying, asking questions, and discussing with the students and teachers in the classroom, contributing to the promotion of the Chinese national art of calligraphy.
