Guan Zudong, male, born in 1946, is originally from Member Village, Wulong Township, Chikan Township, Kaiping City, Guangdong Province. He has loved calligraphy since childhood and received instruction from his father and grandfather. He attended the calligraphy correspondence course at the South China Teacher’s College, and his calligraphy works have been exhibited and won many awards in China. In 2008, his calligraphy works won a gold medal at the China National Academy.
He is currently the vice president of the New York Poetry, Painting, and Chess Association, the advisor of the North American Association of Calligraphy and Painting Artists, the director of the Chinese Calligraphers Association of America, and the director of the A & C Culture Center.
Since his retirement in 2009, he has been engaged in calligraphy conduction at the Salvation Army Humanure Center, the Dahan Calligraphy and Painting Art Society, the A & C Culture Center, and the Longgang Pro-Yi Congregation.
In August this year, he held a joint exhibition of calligraphy and painting at the Confucius Building Fellowship Hall with his paternal brother, Guan Wenzhen, and published a book of calligraphy and painting, which was well received by people from all walks of life.
