Guan Qi, born in 1936, graduated from the calligraphy seminar of South China University of Arts and Letters. He is now a member of Guangdong Calligraphers Association, a director of Jiangmen Calligraphers Association, and the president of Taishan Calligraphy Association. in June 1986, he led the organization of Taishan Calligraphy and Seal Carving Society, held various calligraphy classes, trained 350 calligraphers, and edited and published 10 collections of Taishan’s calligraphy works, collectively and individually. In the past 10 years, more than 300 pieces of calligraphy works have been selected for exhibition or collected and awarded in countries such as Canada, the USA, Australia, Singapore, and France. His representative works were selected for the “Collection of Chinese Folk Calligraphy and Painting”, the “Collection of Works of the First Invitation Exhibition of Famous Calligraphers and Painters of the National Federation of Literary and Art Circles” and the “Chinese Art Celebrity Exhibition”, and the “National Senior Calligraphy Exhibition of the Old Steed in the Olympics” sponsored by the Department of Social Culture of the Ministry of Culture of the People’s Republic of China. The “National Senior Calligraphy Exhibition for the Olympic Games” sponsored by the Department of Social Culture of the Ministry of Culture of the People’s Republic of China won the Gold Medal. His biography was included in the “Great Collection of Chinese Artistic Talents”, etc.
