Chen Tingtong

Chen Tingtong is an ink and wash portrait painter.
He was born in January 1950.
He graduated from the Education Department of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in 1988.
He studied Chinese ink figure painting under Professor Chen Zhenguo and received guidance from famous teachers such as Yang Zhiguang, Liu Jirong, and Guo Mang Yuan.
He is an expert in high school teaching assessment of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education and an expert in the proposing group of the examining group of Guangdong Provincial Examination Yuan.
Now he is an associate professor at Guangzhou College of Painting and Calligraphy.
He has taught for a total of fifty-two years.
He is the president of Guangdong Nanshan Painting and Calligraphy Research Association, a member of the Guangdong Artists Association, the secretary-general of the Art Committee of Chinese Painting and Character Painting of Guangzhou Artists Association, and the first excellent art teacher of Guangdong Province.
He has published more than 120 books (sets) of comic strips, illustrations, and teaching materials.
In 1988, he visited Bulgaria as a national group exercise expert to exchange experience in creation.
In 2007, he received the Guangzhou City Art Education Award.
In 2008, the Chinese painting “Hu Jintao Meets Foreign Friends” was presented to the personal assistant of the President of Argentina as a national gift.
In June 2011, he held three personal ink figure painting exhibitions at Liuzhou Painting Institute.
In December 2012, he was invited to Bangkok to participate in the painting and calligraphy exhibition on the thirty-seventh anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand.
In May 2013, he held a three-person ink painting and calligraphy exhibition, Guo Mang Yuan, Chen Ting Tong, and Ye Yao Cai, in Meizhou.
From May 2014, 76 4 feet square ink painting groups of “Repaying the kindness of relatives” were exhibited in Guangzhou, Shantou, Qingdao, Jinan, Macau, and Shenzhen in six cities and seven places. 60,000 copies of the painting book were printed and given to relevant units and individuals at home and abroad for free.
In September 2015, 52 4-foot ink and wash portraits of “Whampoa Military Academy Anti-Japanese Heroes” were exhibited at the Whampoa Military Academy Museum in Guangzhou for the first time, and the opening ceremony of the national touring exhibition.
From July to August 2016, 20 portraits of “Moving Traffic People” of Guangdong Provincial Department of Transportation were exhibited in six cities of Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Heyuan, Shantou, Huizhou, and Maoming.
In 2019, the portrait painting “The unwashed red eagle one by one Feng Dafei” won the only special contribution award for the 70th anniversary of the founding of the National Aviation Association. In the same year, the 27 pieces of “Feng Dafei’s glorious fighting life” 70cm x 70cm ink group painting created for Qingyuan Overseas Chinese High School in Guangzhou were completed and collected for exhibition.
In August 2020, the 42 4-foot portraits of “Guangyi Famous Scholars: The Portraits of Dongguan’s Scholarship Sages of All Ages” created for Yuan Chonghuan Memorial Park in Dongguan were collected and exhibited.
Since 2008, hundreds of portraits have been collected by people from all walks of life.
