Cao Jianquan, a farmer calligrapher, is now the head of Yangtian Village in Guanghai, Taishan, and was awarded the title of “Ten Most Beautiful Neighborhoods” in Guangdong Province in 2012.
In 2002, he won the gold medal in the “Chinese Century Environmental Protection Cup Calligraphy Competition” co-organized by the Chinese Calligraphy Association, the Art Association, and the Photographic Association, and is now the honorary president of the Taishan Calligraphy Association.
In April 2017 and June 2019, he was invited twice to the East Asia Library of the University of Washington and the A & C Culture Center in New York. In April and June 2017, he was invited to the East Asia Library of the University of Washington and the A & C Culture Center in New York to hold personal calligraphy exhibitions and to wield calligraphy and give lectures at the Schilling Institute of Art in Chicago and the Confucius Building in New York, winning high appreciation from the audience.
Since 2013, Mr. Cao has been invited to hold personal calligraphy exhibitions, pen parties, and performances in nearly 30 regions and organizations in China, where he has been warmly welcomed by the public.
Mr. Cao’s actions have made him a renowned calligrapher, shaping his artistic life as a “calligrapher of style”.
